Erin Lau, Owner & Founder
Erin considers landscape design from an artistic, architectural and ecological perspective. Bringing together her background in architecture, landscape architecture, illustration and gardening, Erin approaches each design with a unique eye for detail and deep understanding of the design process. She believes that the garden, however large or small, should be designed as a whole system, in which every part connects with one another. She has studied Permaculture and is a firm advocate of urban farming and edible gardens. Erin’s passion for design is part of a family tradition – her grandfather, father, and uncle are all architects. Though raised in San Diego, Erin now lives and works in Seattle and considers this beautiful city to be her hometown of choice.
Erin holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Southern California, where she graduated with honors. For four years, she worked as an architectural designer with residential clients at Johnston Architects in Seattle. She is a Certified Professional Horticulturalist (CPH) and a Certified Permaculture Designer. Erin works mainly as a designer & project manager. Katia Rios, Landscape Designer
After living and traveling around the world as a child and young adult, in places like Germany, Colorado, Arizona, Jordan, and Thailand, it became all too clear that what unites everyone on this planet is their connection to place. This understanding is what brought Katia into the field of landscape design/architecture, after a bachelor’s in International Studies from the University of Denver.
Katia pursued and completed her Master’s of Landscape Architecture within the diverse Sonoran Desert of Tucson, Arizona, focusing on responses to climate change such as water scarcity and challenging urban conditions, and graduating as the top of her class as the University’s Olmsted Scholar. It is within the Pacific Northwest, however, that Katia found her home and put her landscape design knowledge into practice.
With over 10 years of professional design experience, Katia brings her passion and love for landscape design into all of her projects, from large public parks, to small courtyard designs and residential gardens. She believes everyone deserves to be immersed in the beauty of our breathtaking environment, and has committed her professional and personal life to sharing and fostering the reciprocity we humans have to this essential planet.
